About Windy
Windy was removed from negligent owners in a joint effort between BEHS and law enforcement officers. She was severely emaciated and dehydrated -when they were picked up, the little herd had no water even though it was over 100 degrees outside. She quickly recovered, though, and became a cute, fat pony.
She spent quite a while searching for the right adopters - she's an adorable pony, but she has a huge attitude! The Skinner family has several kids to ride her and the experience to train her well. Look for Windy and the Skinners at horse shows and playdays - we expect great things!
Evaluation and Training
Windy has been ridden by a child under supervision at the walk only. She reportedly did not do well with other ponies around her and would try to kick them. She has been taught to wear a harness and has pulled a training cart in the round pen only.
Windy is a dominant mare with other ponies and does not get along well in a herd situation. At feeding time she would kick the other ponies. She would not let the other ponies into the run in shed with her. Her foster home will try putting her in with two horse mares and see how she does.
