About Hana
Hana was emaciated upon arrival. Both of her front knees have significant bony growths on them from being worked hard in her past (probably reining), which makes her companion only.
Hana is very sweet and bright and looks forward to mealtime. Out in the field, she gets along well with her herd mates, and is neither bossy nor at the bottom of the pecking order, but generally goes along with all the other mares and whatever they are doing. Right now, Hana lays down and rises easily and her foster home often sees her trotting around the field with the herd.
Hana crossed the Rainbow Bridge in January due to complications from old injuries (sustained before she came to Bluebonnet) and old age. She had several amazing years with her loving adopters, though, and we’re grateful to them for giving her a wonderful home.
Evaluation and Training
Hana stands well for grooming. She is easy to handle and has excellent ground manners.
Due to Hana's age and lameness issues, she is available as a pet and companion only.
