About Gumdrop
Gumdrop was transferred to Bluebonnet by another rescue. He was born at the transferring rescue after his dam arrived pregnant.
Evaluation and Training
Gumdrop is a sweet, friendly guy who has been handled since birth and well-cared for since birth. He loves attention and will come up to greet you whenever you are nearby. His foster home has begun giving him leading lessons and lessons on having his hooves picked up and handled. He’s a youngster, so he’s going to need consistent training sessions for a while before he is great at either one, but he’ll get there.
Right now, he’s still nibbly with people – like most babies, he’s exploring the world with his mouth.
Gumdrop was weaned in early October and then gelded October 10th, 2023. He’s currently living with an older pony and doing well, he has an older donkey in a neighboring pen, and he’s met horses across the fence.
Gumdrop is available as a pet. He could be trained to ride (for a child), drive, or do in hand obstacles once he’s older. He is not available as a livestock guard donkey.
