Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society (BEHS) announces its first annual Open Horse Show Series in Texas. The horse show series is open to all breeds, sexes, and ages of horses and will feature special classes to showcase horses adopted from or fostered for a horse rescue. The public is invited to attend to watch the show, meet rescue horses, and learn about horse rescue in Texas.

Horse owners are invited to bring their horses to compete in a variety of events. These include halter, showmanship, English, Western, trail, and a fun costume class. There are many classes for horses and riders who have just begun showing – so these shows are a great place to start new horses or riders on their show career. Each show will offer a high point award to the horse/rider combination who wins the most points throughout the show. Future plans include adding a ‘series high point award’ for the horse/rider who wins the most points over the entire show series.

The first show is September 24, 2005 in Azle, Texas and the second show is October 8, 2005 in Stockdale, Texas. BEHS plans to include shows in various locations throughout Texas in 2006.

Proceeds from the show go to help horses like Pandora. She was found starving in a pasture and had gone without water for days when BEHS and law enforcement officers stepped in. She’s now recovering in a foster home. Attend the show and help Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society help the many horses who need us!
