As an introduction to her invited commentary on how rescues help unwanted horses at the American Quarter Horse Convention in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Jennifer Williams proudly announced the formation of a new horse rescue organization. Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society (BEHS) will serve the needs of horses and horse owners throughout the states of Texas and Arkansas as a beginning, with the goal of expanding as far as the need dictates.

With a group of experienced and well-trained volunteers, Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society will as a non-profit organization work with law enforcement agencies, local animal shelters, and equine professionals to provide a path for horses into permanent, loving homes.

Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is currently a non-profit corporation in Texas, and our 501(c)(3) status is pending. Because of this, your donations may not be tax-deductible. If you need a tax-deductible donation, please check with us to get our updated status. In the meantime, we would/could use the following: Property where we can build a BEHS facility; A reliable, safe stock trailer; Stamps; Video camera; Digital camera; Office supplies and equipment; Hay, grain, supplements; Wormer; Donation of veterinary services; Film; and Tack.
