Policy
It is the policy of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society to offer memberships to the general public.
Procedure
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society accepts membership applications from the general public. The following membership types are available:

Individual | $25 | Applicant shown on membership application is allowed one vote, as outlined in the By-Laws. |
Family | $50 | The applicant shown on the membership application, persons related by blood, marriage, civil union, domestic partnership or adoption, including a ward, foster child or foreign exchange student who is a resident of the applicants household. A student enrolled in school full-time, who was a resident of the household before moving to attend school.

Sponsoring | $100 | Above benefits including two votes and listing on BEHS website |
$150 | Same benefits as $100 sponsoring membership plus listing in newsletter | |
$250 | Same benefits at $150 sponsoring membership plus ad in newsletter and on website | |
$500 | Same benefits as $150 sponsoring membership plus free T-shirt or ball cap | |
Lifetime | $1000 | Same benefits as individual membership plus a free T-shirt and ball cap or visor |
Group Membership $100 Available to any organized group (school group, nonprofit, stable/farm, etc.). The group’s representative to the rescue will be allowed access to the BEHS email lists and receive one copy of the newsletter. No reduced admittance to events or voting privileges are given to group memberships. Affiliated memberships are required for any individual member of a group membership to volunteer with BEHS or be added individually to the BEHS email lists.
Affiliated Membership $5 Affiliated members must also be members of an organization that has a group membership to BEHS. Affiliated members receive reduced admittance to some events and one vote.
All members will receive a copy of published newsletters (via email or postal mail) and important announcements pertaining to the rescue’s business.
Memberships run from the 1st day of the month in which they are paid until the last day of the previous month one year later. Renewal notices will be mailed out approximately one month before the membership expires. If the member does not renew his/her memberships by the date of its expiration, the member will lose all rights and privileges that are granted to the members.
Members receive limited voting rights as outlined in the Bylaws.
Memberships are non-refundable.
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society and its Board of Directors reserve the right to refuse or revoke membership of any individuals or groups who are convicted of animal abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The Board of Directors may vote unanimously to revoke the membership of any individuals or groups that violate policies and procedures of BEHS or for any other reason dictated by the Board of Directors.
