#GivingTuesday is an international day of giving, held the first Tuesday after Black Friday/Cyber Monday. The movement’s goal is to celebrate the generosity of the holiday spirit and counter commercialism with a day to help charities.
#GivingTuesday this year falls on November 28. For us, this is when we launch our year end giving campaign, with the goal of raising $100,000 in year end gifts, including $25,000 for #GivingTuesday.
We know this goal is ambitious – but this year has been an expensive year for Bluebonnet. We’ve taken in more horses than ever before, over 145. This includes over 40 from one rescue organization that was struggling and another 56 from a single neglect case. Our vet bills, training bills, and transportation bills this year are higher than before.
Our goal may be ambitious, but we believe we can achieve it if we work together. And achieving this goal means we can help many more horses in 2024 get the care, love, and home they deserve.
We have the following matching donations for #GivingTueday this year:*
Layla’s Gift: $1,000
Karma’s Matching Gift: $2,000
Annonymous 3 times matching gift: $1,000 (after this gift’s $1,000 is raised we’ll get an additional $3,000 in matching funds!)
Rowan’s Gift: $1,000
Anonymous Match: $10,000
*Matching gifts means that once we receive the first $1,000 in donations, this donor will match them (turning that $1,000 into $2,000), then when we reach the next $2,000 in donations, Karma’s Matching Gift will match them, etc.
