About Barnaby

Barnaby was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet by law enforcement. Barnaby competed in the 2019 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo and met his adopter. Congratulations Barnaby!

Evaluation and Training

Barnaby leads, loads, and is good to handle. His foster home said he can be a little pushy at feeding time, but that's not unusual. His first foster home had a trainer evaluate him under saddle. The trainer believed that he had clearly been ridden before but wasn’t well trained. His foster home said he would go where asked but acted like he didn't know a lot. He spent June-October 2019 with a youth rider for more riding time, and he’s come a long ways! They’ve ridden in an arena and on trails, and he’s learned to navigate trail and man-made obstacles. His rider has worked him through buddy sour issues and says he is a sweet, quiet horse who is a joy to work with.
