About Champ

Champ was seized by law enforcement agents from negligent owners (a "kill pen") and awarded to Bluebonnet.

Champ was going to be competing in the Fall 2022 Training Challenge, but his trainer has fallen in love with him and
decided to adopt him. Champ has officially become Brynlee's first horse and the rest will go down in history...Congratulations Champ and Brynlee!!!

Evaluation and Training

Champ is easy to catch in the pasture and yields to a halter and lead rope. He is generally compliant, except when it comes to his girlfriend Molly (Amora), of whom he is extremely protective and possessive. Champ was evaluated by a trainer who stated he is used to having someone on his back, but seems to have had little formal training. He backed under saddle, but does not seem to have any extra bells and whistles. He is very sweet and level headed on the ground and under saddle once he is relaxed. He’s forward moving, but personality wise he is a bit lazy. He’s smart and picks things up quickly but also smart enough to find ways to get out of work. He is likely to test each new handler to see what he can get out of doing. Champ is generally a good, willing boy, and will make a great riding horse with more time and training. In his current state, he would be safe for a confident intermediate rider that understands he still needs work. He has the potential to be a suitable mount for less experienced riders once he has had more training. He would be easy to train and would make a good project for a less experienced amateur trainer or someone that wants a nice project horse.
