About Short Stack
Short Stack was placed with Bluebonnet when his owners could no longer keep him due to their own health problems.
Standing just over 7 hands high, this charming miniature donkey gelding enjoys hanging out with other donkeys and horses. Short Stack (“Shorty”) is a calm gentleman. He’s happy to be petted and readily accepts treats. He is curious about the world around him. His previous owner said he was fine around children and let them love on him.
He was adopted as a pet and companion, and we're so excited for him!
Evaluation and Training
He doesn’t particularly enjoy being caught, but is accepting of a halter once you drape a lead rope around his neck. He will allow himself to be caught and haltered with no problem if his friends are being haltered to go out. He leads well until, like most donkeys, he decides he’d rather stop and look around on the way. He can be enticed to go where he needs to go with a little coaxing.
Shorty wants to be one of the gang, and doesn’t like being left behind. He’d do best with equine friends.
He has not been seen to buck, bite, or kick in his foster home. He was good with the farrier. The professionals have pronounced his teeth, feet, and general health to be good, so he is ready for a new home! He is going to make a cute pet or companion.
