About Worf

Worf was surrendered to Bluebonnet when his owners were investigated for neglect. He had not been handled much before coming to the rescue. He was gelded in March 2021.

His first foster home was an equine veterinarian, and she feels that although he is short, he is very stout and could likely handle being ridden by a teenager or small adult, once trained.

Evaluation and Training

When Worf arrived, he had very little handling. He could be caught, with patience, in a catch pen but didn’t know much else. He’s spent four months with trainer Courtney Fain and is now doing great. His ground manners are nearly perfect, and he can be handled by a child (under adult supervision). Courtney has started him under saddle and ridden at a walk, trot, and canter in the round pen, arena, and open field. She’s ridden him through water, around cattle, and down the trails. He’s still green, so Courtney thinks he needs an intermediate rider, but he has been ridden by children under supervision so he could work for a child who is working with a trainer. He’s also a great size to train to drive, too!

Worf will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 8, 2022, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center.

Worf completed the training challenge and was adopted that very day!
