About Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants was rescued by Love This Horse Equine Rescue and then transferred to Bluebonnet. When she arrived at Bluebonnet, she was impossible to catch. Her foster home has been working with her, and she’s improving, but her foster home feels something must have happened in her past to make her completely distrust humans.

She has not been at all aggressive, she just refuses to approach people and tries to flee when cornered. If caught, you can pet her sides and neck. She does not like hands moving around her face, but once you touch her face she likes to be rubbed between the eyes.

You can follow her progress on her Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/BluebonnetSpokeshorse
She’s likely going to be in rehabilitation a long time as her foster home continues to help her overcome whatever trauma she suffered in the past.

We don’t know what Fancy went through before coming to Bluebonnet, but it seems none of it was good. After spending over a year with two different foster homes, one very experienced with unhandled horses, we did not believe she was going to come around. She tolerated us getting close to her, barely, but she did not seek any human interaction. Fortunately, Black Beauty Ranch offered to give her sanctuary. They’re set up to handle feral horses and she has a place to live out her life without much human interaction (unless needed). We hated that we couldn’t help her learn that people could be good, but we’re glad she has this chance to live the life she needs and wants.

Fancy Pants hasn't been handled a lot before coming to Bluebonnet so her foster home is working to gain her trust.
