About Fudge

Fudge’s owner placed him with BEHS when she couldn’t keep him. She had trail ridden him in the past and said he was a quiet, well broke horse. He has been treated for ulcers and recovered well, but he takes a long time to eat, must be fed alone as he will abandon his feed if fed with other horses, and requires soaked alfalfa and senior feeds. Because of this, his adoption fee is much lower than it would normally be.

Evaluation and Training

Fudge’s owner said he has been both a ranch horse and a trail horse in the past. He’s spent the past few months (starting in June 2023) with a teenager rider. They’ve worked both on the ground and under saddle, and he’s been great to ride.

Fudge’s rider has ridden him at a walk, jog, and lope in a round pen, in different arenas, and in an open field. She’s started him on barrels and says he prefers to walk and trot around them. She’s ridden him on trails and over obstacles, and she says he’s great at water crossings. She believes he would be a good beginner to intermediate rider horse and would do well with either kids or adults.

Fudge is a special guy who has a lot to give. Don’t let his feed requirements turn you off – he’s going to give you so much in return for your love and time.

Fudge attended the 2022 Fall Training Challenge Expo and was adopted!
