About Stache
Stache was donated by a riding camp where he had been used by wranglers to lead kids on trail rides. He came to Bluebonnet when they no longer needed him.

Evaluation and Training
Stache is ready for a home where he can either teach kids some riding skills or enjoy some trail riding. He can take a few minutes to catch, but once caught he leads, loads, and stands tied. He’s good to groom, bathe, fly spray and deworm, and he’s good for the farrier. This guy has all the ground skills down!
His Training Challenge partner has been riding him in a western saddle with either a snaffle bit or a hackamore. They’ve ridden just about everywhere from the round pen to various arenas to trails. He’s gone over obstacles, doesn’t mind his rider dressing up in ridiculous costumes, and carries children. She even started him on the barrel pattern (although at his age he shouldn’t do tons of playdays). He’s been around and been ridden by kids and has done fine. His Challenge partner thinks he would be a fine beginner or kid's horse. Don’t let his age concern you, he doesn’t know his age and he’s ready for a partner who will enjoy him as much as he will enjoy his time with a person (or family) of his own!
Stache is competing in the Non-Pro Under Saddle division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Savannah Misner. Stache will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 8, 2022, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center.
Stache completed the training challenge and was adopted that very day!
