About Yellowstone

Yellowstone was removed from negligent owners by law enforcement and then placed with Bluebonnet.

His foster home says he’s a super sweet horse and they really love him. He’s been handled by their 11-year-old daughter and does well with her.

Like a lot of formerly neglected horses, he can be a bit food aggressive, so he is fed in his own stall. He will pin ears and kick at horses who come close to him at feeding time but has not been aggressive with people in his foster home. He happily shares his hay out in the pasture with other geldings and mares.

Evaluation and Training

Yellowstone has great ground manners. He’s sweet and good with both adults and children.

His foster “mom” and her eleven-year-old daughter have ridden him at a walk and trot in pasture, the arena, and the round pen. When pushed to canter, he will kick out and has crow hopped. His foster home says he seems to prefer taking it slow and easy, but his cantering will likely improve as his condition improves and he has more work under saddle.
