About Buckaroo Bob
Buckaroo Bob suffered an injury to his eye in spring 2023. He was adopted but quickly returned because the adopter’s vet discovered the injury had left a scar on his eye. Scars on eyes heal slowly, so we will not know the extent of the permanent scarring for quite some time. Buckaroo Bob’s adopter said he was “looky” on the side with the scar and she did not feel he would be good for riding as originally thought.
He does have chronic diarrhea even being out in the pasture. This doesn’t seem to bother him and isn’t a concern for his vet.
Evaluation and Training
Buckaroo Bob’s former owners rode him and their grandkids rode him. He hasn’t been ridden in a few years but would just need a quick refresher and could likely be a kids’ horse again. He is an older man, though, so he needs to be limited to light riding: mostly walking and trotting and no jumping, play days, etc. His foster home has known him for many years and says he has more whoa than go under saddle.
Buckaroo Bob is good at leading, loading, catching, saddling, farrier work, etc. His Foster takes him for walks with a golf cart right now because she is unable to ride at the time.
