Evaluation and Training

Ruby Red's Challenge trainer focused on ground work with her and did not start her under saddle. She leads, loads, and lunges well and has been handled by children as well as adults on the ground.

After the Expo and Training Challenge, Ruby Red went home with a few family who wanted to foster her. Their teenage daughter has been working with Ruby Red on the ground, teaching her to lunge, carry a saddle, etc. She’s doing well with her training.

Ruby Red’s Training Challenge trainer has been riding her and they're doing great. Ruby's learning to drag and carry objects while ridden and navigate trail obstacles. She's really taken to trail riding, too, and handles anything the trails throw at her like a champ. Ruby loves doing new things all the time and visiting new places! She honestly travels very well and is never rowdy or nervous when we visit new places. Ruby Red has been introduced to playday events and loves them if she can get breaks as well. She is not one that wants to be ridden every day. Ruby LOVES to ride naturally and unbridled. She does not fancy the bit and gets frustrated when I’m in her mouth too much. Make a bond with her and impress everyone by riding her with nothing on her face! Overall, Ruby is a great “all-around” type mare that wants a job, a person to love, and adventures to go on!
