About Ash
Ash was transferred to Bluebonnet for training and rehoming. Ash came to us as a stallion and was gelded in September of 2023.
Because Ash was a stallion for so long, he hasn't always gotten along with other horses in his foster homes. We believe he should be kept with all geldings (no mares on the property) or as the only gelding in a herd of mares. He could also be kept as an only horse.
Evaluation and Training
When Ash arrived, it was apparent that while he had had some training or handling in the past, he hadn't been handled for a long time. He spent time with a foster home and then a trainer who worked with him on his ground manners. He can now be caught, haltered, lead and handled.
Unfortunately, he developed a lameness while at the trainer's and the vet who saw him said he is only pasture sound, not sound for riding. Because of this, Ash is looking for a home as a pet or companion (see information in the About section).
