Ritz is competing in the Non-Pro Under Saddle Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Keela Ochoa. Ritz will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 5, 2024, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center. Evaluation and Training
Ritz has been working with an 11-year-old. She has taught Ritz to stand for fly spray, grooming, and blanketing. She is working on being caught, but once caught he is easier to halter. Ritz will load in the trailer and stands and waits while she puts food in his feeder - no pushing or shoving.
Ritz has been introduced to a saddle and a bit. He has been led around with the saddle pad and has done well.
He has also been introduced to the round pen. He will walk in both directions, trot and canter to the right.
Ritz is now getting ready for the training Challenge. He can pick up all four feet. I can put all 4 fly boots on his legs. Ritz stands to be saddled. He has been taken to events to visit sights and sounds. Ritz has been ridden in a round pen and has done well.
