Winston came to Bluebonnet when his owner couldn't keep him. He initially struggled with his weight, so he's stayed with us a while as his foster home found the right feed program, rehabilitated him, and started working with him on the ground. He's a smart guy who has had some training at some point in his life: he is good to catch, lead, and load in a trailer. He stands for the farrier and for baths and grooming.

His foster "mom" has saddled and bridled him and he doesn't seem to mind any of that. She hasn't ridden him, but he's going into the 2025 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge to start under saddle work and so we can get to know him better and find out where he excels and who his perfect adopter will be.
