About Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi was removed from negligent owners by law enforcement and then placed with Bluebonnet by animal control. He was assigned to the 2023 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge Non-Pro Under Saddle division but was lame. His veterinary team diagnosed with him with navicular after a comprehensive lameness exam. He is pasture sound without shoes.
Bon Jovi is competing in the In-Hand 13 and Up Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Rylie Veale. Bon Jovi will be available for adoption on October 4, 2025, during the Bluebonnet Training Challenge and Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, TX. Evaluation and Training
Bon Jovi is good to handle on the ground and does well living with other horses in pasture. He is supposedly broke to ride, but navicular causes him to go lame if ridden much. He might be able to do some very light riding, mostly walking, on his good days or do leadline (although he would need a riding evaluation before putting children on him). He may do better with shoes and be able to do some more riding if shod.
He would be a gorgeous pet and wonderful companion to other horses.
