About Molasses

Evaluation and Training

3-24-26 – per foster home- He continues to make steady, confidence‑building progress. He spends his days with two pony companions and maintains his role as the quiet herd boss without causing any fuss. His ground manners remain great—responsive, and easy to handle. He’s currently working on lowering his head for the halter and showing improved patience during routine handling.

His foster has also been helping him put on weight, and he certainly enjoys mealtime. He was excellent for his recent farrier visit, standing calmly throughout. He will lunge on a line and round pen at a walk and trot in both directions. The foster’s daughter even rode him bareback at a walk, and he handled the short ride with his usual steady, kind demeanor.

He is easy to catch in the pasture. He is easy to halter once caught but learning to drop his head. He will load in a trailer if lead inside. He walks next to you when being lead. He will stand tied for grooming, farrier, baths, and fly spray. He is currently learning to ground tie.
