About Amber

Amber was seized by law enforcement along with 6 others and awarded to BEHS. She was adopted later that year but then returned about a year later when her adopters had to move. She was re-adopted in 2012 but returned in 2015 by her adopters.

Evaluation and Training

When Amber arrived at BEHS, she was young and barely halter broke. Her foster home worked with her on the ground and then in 2011, she moved to another foster home who started her under saddle. In 2012, she was adopted for a teenage girl. She enjoys jumping small cavalettis and has been trail ridden extensively for the past few years. From March-November 2014, she went on monthly camp-out trail rides. Her adopters said she did great on the trails if another horse is along and is not spooky at all. For the camp-outs, they kept her in a portable electric fence corral and she did well. Amber wasn't ridden for the past year, so she went to a trainer in December 2015 for some riding. She was very reactive on the ground and when saddled, and the trainer believes she needs to be restarted under saddle. Due to weather, the ground is too wet to safely restart her and she's at a foster home for now. If not adopted, she'll go back to a trainer in the spring when the weather is better.
