About Mozart

Mozart came to Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society in 2009 along with four other horses. He was skinny and hadn't been handled much when he arrived. His foster home got him started on the right path, and he was adopted in 2011. He was returned in 2014 due to his adopter's health, but this gave him the chance to compete in the professional division of the 2014 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. He did well in the Challenge and caught the eye of his adopter and he was adopted two weeks later.

Evaluation and Training

Mozart is a cute gelding with a huge personality. He is fun and willing under saddle. From the first ride he has not once off offered to buck or do anything dangerous. Mozart willingly walks, trots, and canters under saddle without hesitation. His foster home says he has a nice rocking horse lope under saddle that she could ride all day!

Mozart has been ridden down roads solo as well as in a group, hauled to arenas, trails, and been ridden around rodeo grounds during an event. Though Mo will still be green under saddle due to time ridden, his foster mom feels he will be a great match for an intermediate youth. He has been introduced to the barrel pattern and though he doesn't have the speed for rodeos he would make a fun playday or gymkhanna horse. Mo has spooked a couple of times under saddle but that's because he is still green, and he works through his fears quickly. Mo is easy to handle on the ground and has the need to please that you look for in a good gelding. We like to say he is dynamite all wrapped up in cute packaging!
