About Romo

Romo and 11 other horses were part of a cruelty seizure in NE Texas. Romo and his herdmates were awarded to BEHS by the courts. He attended the 2013 Bluebonnet Horse Expo where he met his adopter. Congrats to Romo and his new family!

Evaluation and Training

Romo was started under saddle in October 2011 and won the 2011 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge later that month. While still very green, he has been trail ridden, ridden over tarps, ground poles, etc. He is a skittish horse who needs a calm, experienced rider. He was adopted and returned when he bucked with his adopter, and he has bucked with a foster home. He went to training from December 2012-February 2013 with a trainer. The trainer said that Romo was very touchy about having anyone touch his head or ears. The trainer worked with him to help him overcome his fears about having his ears and head handled. The trainer has ridden Romo in an arena and taken him out on trail rides. He's a hot horse who would do best with an experienced, confident rider. Everyone who meets Romo loves him, though, and someone's going to get a wonderful horse when they adopt him!
