About Annie Oakley
Annie Oakley and two other donkey jennies were found abandoned and placed with BEHS. She was pregnant when she arrived at BEHS, and one more in June, her foster "mom" walked outside to find tiny foal that she named Jewels! Annie Oakley already had an adoption pending, and her potential adopter also fell in love with Jewels. When Jewels was just a few weeks old, she and Annie Oakley moved to their adopter's home!
Evaluation and Training
Annie Oakley is learning to trust human contact. Her foster home says that Annie will walk up to her for petting, and she can walk up to Annie and pet on her. If she has a rope in her hand, though, Annie will move off unless she is in a stall. She does lead once caught, and she's learning to have her feet handled. She's going to need a patient adopter to keep working with her and a patient farrier to work on her hooves.
