About Aruba

Aruba and her herdmates were surrendered to BEHS when the sheriff’s department responded to a call about animal neglect. Aruba was emaciated and once she gained weight, she had some lameness issues. Fortunately those resolved with pasture rest and she was vetted a few months and cleared for riding. Her foster home discovered she was a fun riding horse, and her adopter met her and fell in love immediately. Congrats to Susan and Aruba!

Evaluation and Training

Aruba's foster home began working with her in October 2013 and found out that she was green broke under saddle. In the beginning, she was hot under saddle but she's been settling down and is becoming a nice riding horse. She is naturally very collected under saddle, and she still likes to show. Although she's being ridden in a western saddle at her foster home, she has much more potential as an English horse. She could be a pretty open show, pleasure, or trail riding horse.
