About Wildfire

Wildfire came to Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society in November of 2012 from a neglect case. She was part of the 2014 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. but after the Challenge an old injury she sustained before coming to Bluebonnet started causing her pain and we decided she needed a companion only home. Those are hard to find, so we waited.. and waited.. and waited.
Then we had a Thanksgiving Miracle! Wildfire met her adopters and got adopted! Congrats to Wildfire and Brigitte!

Evaluation and Training

Wildfire leads, loads, and stands tied. She stands for grooming and the farrier, and she stands to be saddled. From July-October 2014, she was in training with a professional trainer and a foster home in preparation for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. The trainer was able to ride her at a walk, jog, and lope in an arena and over obstacles.

Unfortunately, Wildfire suffered an injury to her front right pastern, likely before coming to BEHS, that has resulted in arthritic changes and changes to the bone. She's sound in pasture and may be sound for very light riding (occasional rides around the farm), but she will not remain sound for much riding. She's an easy keeper and gets along well with others at he current foster home. She would make a nice pet and companion.
