About Junebug

Junebug was found estray and placed with BEHS when her owner was not located.

* Bluebonnet’s Hospice Adoption program is for special needs horses. We will waive the adoption fee on Hospice Adoption horses, pay for their euthanasia and disposal (burial, cremation, etc.) when needed, and pay $500 (paid in quarterly $125 increments) towards their annual care. The $500 should go towards annual vaccinations, Coggins, and dental work, farrier care, and/or hay and grain. The $500 will only be paid if the horse is current on inspections and in good condition.

Junebug was hard to place due to all her issues. Her foster home decided that since she had settled into the routine there, she would adopt her and keep her for life. Congratulations Junebug!

Evaluation and Training

Junebug is very leery of humans and is having to learn to trust. When she arrived, she was impossible to catch. She can now be caught in the roundpen and leads, but she doesn't approach humans willingly. Junebug needs a home where she can live out her life with love and good care. She can be a companion only – she is not going to be ridable or be a good pet. She prefers to be handled as little as possible. Because Junebug is so leery of people, she needs a home with good fences: if she escapes you may never catch her. She will need a home with a vet who can handle scared horses and should be sedated for any farrier work.
