About Blossom

Blossom and her herdmates were surrendered to BEHS when their owner was investigated for neglect. Blossom attended the 2014 Bluebonnet Horse Expo and was adopted at the event!

Evaluation and Training

Blossom had very limited handling before coming to BEHS, but her foster home has worked with her and now she comes trotting up to her handler at the sound of a clicker and readily sticks her nose in a halter. She was recently trimmed for the first time, and she stood relatively well for her trim. She’s been around a variety of animals: dogs, cats, deer, ducks, geese, turkeys, other horses, and emus.

Because Blossom was starved throughout much of her young life, we would prefer she go to a home where she will not be started under saddle until she’s three. She is a perfect age to start ground work with now, though, and she ought to be able to do almost anything an adopter trains her for!
