About Lincoln

Lincoln was seized from negligent owners and awarded to BEHS.

Lincoln competed in the 2018 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo. He met his adopter at the Expo. Congrats Lincoln!

Evaluation and Training

It appears Lincoln was not handled much before coming to BEHS. He leads, loads, and stands for the farrier. In 2015, he was part of the professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Unfortunately, his trainer didn't get to ride him much but he had a lot of ground work.

Lincoln spent a month with a trainer in the spring of 2017. He was ridden in an arena. While he was very green, he did well. He went to a new foster home in June 2017 to prepare for the In Hand Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and he placed 3rd with his youth handler.

Lincoln is working with Darrell Gardner for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Darrell has spent a lot of time desensitizing Lincoln to numerous things and getting him out to see the world. Lincoln is a very smart horse - and because of that he gets himself in trouble with his handlers. He's brave and has great potential, but he will take advantage of a nervous of timid rider. He's not going to be a horse for a novice, but he can do amazing things for a talented equetrian.
