About Fortune Hunter
Fortune Hunter was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet. He trained for the 2015 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and competed in the In Hand division. He then went to a trainer to be restarted under saddle. He was adopted while at the trainer's place and will be a family trail/pleasure horse.
Evaluation and Training
Fortune Hunter was supposedly a teenager's riding horse before coming to BEHS. His foster home has focused on ground work over the last few months as it seems his training was minimal. He now leads and loads well. He's good for the farrier and good to catch. He backs through gates, crosses obstacles, and is learning to sidepass on the ground. He stands well for saddling and wears a snaffle bridle. His foster home has ridden him at a walk only.Fortune Hunter is spending November with a trainer for saddle training. The trainer said he's a gaited horse, probably a Tennessee Walking Horse cross.Fortune Hunter appears to place instead of trot, so he'll need an adopter who wants a gaited horse.Fortune Hunter competed in and placed 6th in the in hand division of the 2015 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.
