About Taos
Taos was removed from a negligent owner and placed with BEHS. He attended the 2015 Bluebonnet Horse Expo, met an adopter, and went to a new home!
Evaluation and Training
Taos' foster home says he is a very sweet natured horse who comes up to hear and follows her around. He does crowd a bit, but he's getting better with consistent handling. He picks up three of his hooves easily but is a little nervous with his back left, but he's also improving with it. He doesn't like to be tied, but he will stand if the rope is just looped or thrown over a rail. He longes well wearing a saddle, and he's been ridden by his foster home. It seems like he's probably be ridden a decent amount but he's not been trained. He has enormous potential for an adopter who is a confident rider who can complete his training or who is willing to send him to a trainer for a while.
His foster home says, "He's a very attractive and likable guy. He's very personable and friendly, although he was a bit nervous at first. The more I work with him, the more relaxed he gets."
Someone is going to get a very nice horse when they adopt Taos!
