Hunter was emaciated when he arrived at a Bluebonnet foster home in 2011 from a neglect case. It took time for him to gain weight, and once he was healthy we found out he was broke to ride. He was adopted in 2012 Bluebonnet Horse Expo- just a little over a year after he arrived.

Hunter’s been a huge part of his family since he was adopted. His adopter recently had his DNA evaluated at A&M and found out he’s likely Walking Horse, Foxtrotter, and another gaited breed. She and her trainer have unlocked about six different gaits he can perform – and she’s having so much fun with him! She’s been trail riding at her boarding barn and hopes to come out and trail ride with Bluebonnet adopters sometime.  I love hearing from adopters more than eight years after they adopted – we want those long-term loving homes for each and every horse.
