Policy
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, Inc.’s (BEHS) policy is to promote the rescue’s activities through Public Relations Events.
Procedure
Public Relations (PR) Events include:
- Booths at events
- Appearances on television news shows
- Appearances in newspapers
- Appearances in magazines
- Appearances on radio shows
- Other community relations opportunities
The Booth Coordinator shall organize all booths for BEHS and the Public Relations Coordinator shall organize the other PR Events as well as development of printed promotional material such as posters, flyers, and brochures.
Booths
The Booth Coordinator may authorize any free booths at horse events, pet events, or community events. If BEHS must pay a fee in order to have a booth, the booth coordinator may arrange for the booth if there is money in the booth budget.
The Booth Coordinator shall maintain Approved Booth Kits which she will distribute to volunteers who are coordinating a booth. The Booth Coordinator will also maintain a database of booths that BEHS has set up which will include notes on the effectiveness of the booths.
Print Materials
All print materials including brochures, flyers, posters, and any printed advertisements will be approved by the PR Coordinator and the Executive Director.
Television or Radio Appearances
All television or radio appearances must be approved by the PR Coordinator or the Executive Director.
For any fundraisers, seizures, or other events in which BEHS participates, the PR Coordinator or a BEHS Officer shall designate a Media Contact. The Media Contact shall be the only person authorized to speak to the media during these events.
Press Kits
The PR Coordinator shall develop a Press Kit. The Executive Director must approve the Press Kit and any changes to the Press Kit before it is distributed to media outlets.
Web Site
The Public Relations Coordinator and the Web Coordinator will coordinate to ensure consistent messaging and/or branding of the BEHS image throughout all BEHS materials.
